OAK GROVE, Ala. – The Oak Grove Town Council met in a called meeting this week to address three time-sensitive matters.

The council approved a change order for the ongoing Rebuild Alabama repaving project to add thermoplastic rumble strips on Forest Glenn Rd. and Odens Mill Rd. at each approach to their intersections with Gantts Junction Rd. The change order also includes additional quantities of striping, pavement markings, and pavement markers for sections of both roads.

The changes will increase the project cost by $32,501 without adding any working days to the schedule.

The council also accepted a $4,050 quote from Edison Construction to pour a concrete ramp in front of Town Hall and construct two steps leading to the walkway. The quote includes materials. The work is part of an effort to bring the entrance into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In other business, the council accepted a $1,200 quote from Ray and Gilliland to survey the property at 3370 Old Birmingham Hwy. The survey is expected to be completed within two to three weeks.

An additional $200 to $300 is estimated to survey a section for a water line easement on the property at 3374 Old Birmingham Hwy.
