Man killed in car crash in Calhoun County

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. today, Aug. 28, has claimed the life of a Jacksonville man.

Robert Bryan Howard, 57, was killed when the 1996 Dodge Ram pickup he was driving left the roadway on Alabama Hwy. 77 and overturned. Howard, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 16-year-old male, was airlifted to UAB Hospital for his injuries. The crash occurred ten miles south of Ohatchee.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
