SYLACAUGA, Ala. – King’s Home Thrift Store will expand its footprint in Central Alabama with the opening of a new location in Sylacauga next month, bringing bargain shopping opportunities while supporting services for abused women and children.

The store, located at 1383 W Fort Williams St., will hold a soft opening on Saturday, Aug. 1, followed by a grand opening celebration on Friday, Aug. 14. Store hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Sylacauga location will become the third King’s Home Thrift Store in Central Alabama, joining existing stores in Homewood and Pinson. The nonprofit organization’s thrift stores offer a wide variety of secondhand merchandise, with all proceeds supporting King’s Home programs.

According to the organization, 100 percent of every purchase helps fund services that provide shelter, safety, resources, and support for abused women and children across Alabama.

King’s Home traces its roots to 1973, when Bethany Home opened to serve homeless women. The King’s Ranch for abandoned, neglected, and abused youth was founded in 1976, and Hannah Home for abused women and children opened during the 1980s. The ministries merged in 1998 under the King’s Home name.

Today, King’s Home operates 21 residential homes on six campuses in four Alabama counties. Its mission is to serve and glorify God by providing Christ-centered homes and services that offer hope, healing, and opportunity to vulnerable families.
