Damage to fiber optic cable near Sylacauga is being investigated

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that resulted in the damage or destruction of some $25,000 worth of fiber optic cable on the 2600 block of Pine Grove Road near Sylacauga.

The lines, which belong to Spectrum, had only recently been strung and were cut down, but not stolen.

The incident occurred sometime around April 20th, and with no listed suspects in the case, the department is looking for help from the public. Anyone with information on this incident should contact the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office at 256-761-2141.
