SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Isabel Anderson Comer Museum & Arts Center announced the 2017 winners of its Annual Photography Competition at a reception Thursday night, Sept. 21.
The photography contest and exhibition includes 64 photographs by 22 artists. Cash awards were given to the first, second and third place winners, and a one year museum membership was awarded to the honorable mention and People’s Choice winners.
Judges chose the winning photos for first, second, third, and honorable mention, but reception attendees had the opportunity to vote on their favorite photo for the People’s Choice award. Comer Museum’s Executive Director Donna Rentfrow and Board President Don Smith announced the winners during Thursday night’s reception:
First place – David Green for “The Pier”
Second place – Brett Carden for “Morning Forest”
Third place – Brett Carden for “Josiah”
Honorable Mention – Madelyn Carr Bonnett for “Vertigo”
People’s Choice – Todd Riggins for “Sunrise at Children’s Harbor”
The photography exhibit is open to the public and will remain on display through Thursday, Sept. 28. Admission is free.
