CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Childersburg High School basketball hosted an exciting varsity summer play date last Friday, June 9, at the high school gymnasium.
The action-packed day started bright and early at 8:00 a.m. with the first game between Childersburg and Fayetteville, where the Tigers emerged victorious.

Game 4 – Winterboro defeated Fayetteville

The eleven games followed specific rules to ensure fair play and smooth proceedings.
Each game consisted of two 18-minute running clock halves, with the clock stopping on every whistle under 1 minute at the end of each half, following normal basketball rules. Teams were given 3 minutes to warm up between games, and halftime lasted for 2 minutes.
Teams were allowed one 30-second timeout per half, and any shooting fouls resulted in either a 1-for-2 or 1-for-3 free throw attempt. Fouls on made shots were awarded the points plus one, also known as “and one’s.”
In case of a tie, overtime followed a sudden death format, with the first team to score declared the winner.
The play date showcased the talent and sportsmanship of the participating teams in the area, making it an exciting event for players.
