Talladega County Basketball Tournament changes schedule due to inclement weather

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Talladega County Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Tournament tipped off Monday afternoon, Jan. 15, at the Sports Arena in Childersburg with games every afternoon and evening throughout the week until Super Championship Saturday on Jan. 20.

The tournament is spit up into two brackets for the small schools and the big schools. The winners of each bracket will play each other in the Super Championship on Saturday.

Many of the county tournament games will be live throughout the week on MIX 106.5 and/or KiX 100.3.

 

UPDATE: Due to the threat of inclement weather, games on Tuesday, Jan. 16, have been postponed until Wednesday.

A new schedule including results and upcoming matchups is provided below:

Monday (Jan. 15) Results:

Small Schools
Girls

TC Central defeated Fayetteville
Childersburg defeated B.B. Comer

Boys

Winterboro defeated Fayetteville
B.B. Comer defeated TC Central

Wednesday’s games will be held at two venues: the original host, Childersburg, and new additional host, Munford. If school is cancelled on Wednesday, the following will not take place.

@ Childersburg

4:30 p.m. – Winterboro vs. TC Central (Girls)
6:00 p.m. – Childersburg vs. Winterboro (Boys)
7:30 p.m. – Talladega vs. Lincoln (Boys, Large Schools)

@ Munford

4:30 p.m. – Sylacauga vs. Lincoln (Girls)
6:00 p.m. – Talladega vs. Munford (Girls)
7:30 p.m. – Sylacauga vs. Munford (Boys)

If Wednesday’s new schedule is completed, the original schedule from Thursday on will resume as planned.
