Childersburg couple faces child sexual abuse material charges following earlier drug arrests

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A Childersburg couple has been arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse material after previously being arrested earlier this month on drug-related offenses.

Chad Daniel Smith and Jodi Shell Bowen-Vincent, both 49, were arrested by agents with the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force on the new charges. The pair had previously been arrested by the Childersburg Police Department on July 10 on multiple drug charges.

Smith and Bowen-Vincent are each charged with one count of production of child sexual abuse material, five counts of dissemination of child sexual abuse material, and six counts of possession of child sexual abuse material with intent to distribute.

In their earlier arrest, both were charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
