ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College is expanding its workforce training offerings with a new Artificial Intelligence Microcredential course scheduled for the Fall 2026 semester.

The nine-week program, offered through Central Alabama Community College’s Workforce Development program, will run from Aug. 31 through Nov. 1 and be delivered entirely online. The non-credit course costs $99 and is open to anyone interested in developing AI skills, with no prerequisites required.

College officials said the program is designed to provide practical, in-demand artificial intelligence training that can be applied across a variety of industries.

“Our economy is rapidly evolving, and AI literacy is an essential skill to have in every type of industry,” CACC President Jeff Lynn said. “This AI Microcredential will help productivity in manufacturing, healthcare, education, and small business.”

According to the college, the course supports its broader workforce development mission by providing training that addresses the needs of employers throughout Central Alabama.

Lynn said the program is intended to serve both newcomers to artificial intelligence and experienced professionals seeking to expand their skills.

“The course is open to anyone interested in learning or improving their AI skills,” Lynn said, “making it an ideal entry point for beginners and a valuable upskilling opportunity for experienced professionals.”
