ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College celebrated its 59th annual Commencement Exercises on Wednesday, May 13 at its Alexander City campus, honoring students who completed academic, technical, and workforce programs during the 2025-26 academic year.

Graduates, faculty, staff, family members, and community supporters gathered for the ceremony, which recognized students’ academic achievements and personal growth throughout their educational journeys.

The college welcomed Clyde Chambliss as keynote speaker. Chambliss encouraged graduates to pursue excellence, embrace opportunities for growth, and remain committed to serving their communities as they move into the next stage of their lives.

Among the graduates were 17 dual enrollment students who earned two-year college degrees before graduating from high school. The students represented Benjamin Russell High School, Central High School of Coosa County, Reeltown High School, Sylacauga High School, Talladega High School, and Wetumpka High School.

College officials said the students’ accomplishments demonstrate the strength of Central Alabama Community College’s dual enrollment partnerships and provide opportunities for students to accelerate their education while still completing high school requirements.

Seven students from the E.H. Gentry Technical Facility also participated in the ceremony, including six students who are visually impaired or blind and one student who is deaf or hard of hearing. College leaders said their participation reflected the institution’s commitment to accessibility and educational opportunities for all students.

Graduates represented a variety of programs, including academic transfer pathways, career and technical education, workforce development credentials, and health sciences programs. Many balanced coursework alongside careers, military service, and family responsibilities.

“This commencement ceremony represents much more than the awarding of degrees and certificates,” said Central Alabama Community College President Jeff Lynn. “It reflects determination, sacrifice, growth, and the pursuit of opportunity.”

Officials said this year’s ceremony featured the largest number of students participating in commencement exercises in several years, highlighting continued growth at the college.

Throughout the ceremony, graduates crossed the stage before cheering family members and supporters as they received diplomas and certificates recognizing their achievements.
