SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In the middle of a ten-year career in law enforcement, Michael Ponder began a “side gig” installing window tinting. He just cut the ribbon on his second location of a fulltime business that grew from that.
Frontline Offroad is celebrating a Sylacauga storefront on Highway 280 in the former Pauls’s Transmission location, specializing in after market products and services including window-tinting, truck lifts & leveling, wheels/rims and tires, tool boxes, truck beds covers, and so much.
“When your vehicle needs maintenance or repair, there are places all over that help you and take your money because you need them,” explained Ponder, “and we are filling a vehicle need for those who want to upgrade their vehicle, because they see it as a willing investment. There’s is a need, there’s a market, and we are filling it.”
Asked about the key to being able to be successful with a Frontline Offroad shop in Alexander City and expanding to Sylacauga, “It’s about turning first-time customers into long-term friends.
Sylacauga location manager, Chris Williams has two real ‘loves’ in doing his job, “ Window tinting is how we got started, and it grew because we are experts, helping you understand the right tint for your purpose. Look, we’ll install what you want, the way you want it, but it comes with full disclosure on what’s legal and what’s not, and why that matters.”
As for the other love, we found him three times talking about their commercial fleet services, “When you depend on your fleet you can’t afford down time with a vehicle in a shop. We provide regular fleet service, on-the-go. We take care of things, even while you’re taking care of YOUR business calls. Who does that? We do!, he said with a big smile.”
