[LISTEN] Kenleigh McArthur reflects on accomplished career, Coastal Alabama commitment ahead of senior season

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Fayetteville High School senior volleyball standout Kenleigh McArthur reflected on her decorated career and looked ahead to her final season during a Thursday, July 16 appearance on “McCurley in the Morning.”

McArthur joined the program alongside Fayetteville head volleyball coach Ginger McArthur, her mother, to discuss her recent commitment to Coastal Alabama Community College, the recognition she has received throughout her high school career, and expectations for the upcoming season.

A former Class 1A Volleyball Player of the Year, McArthur enters her senior campaign as one of the most accomplished players in program history. During the interview, she spoke about continuing her volleyball career at the collegiate level and expressed excitement about competing for Coastal Alabama Community College after graduation.

McArthur also reflected on the honors she has earned throughout her high school career and discussed her goals for her final season with the Wolves.

Her statistical résumé underscores her impact on the court. Through her varsity seasons, McArthur has recorded 959 kills on 2,845 attack attempts while adding 264 service aces and 612 total points. Defensively, she has compiled 705 digs and 16 total blocks.

She has also demonstrated consistency in serve receive, handling 926 receptions with just 68 reception errors. As a setter, McArthur has contributed 80 assists on 474 ball-handling attempts.

Overall, McArthur has accumulated 940 serve attempts with 264 aces, 84 service errors, 959 kills, 502 attack errors, 80 assists, six ball-handling errors, 10 solo blocks, six block assists, and 705 digs during her high school career.

Coach Ginger McArthur said the team is looking forward to the season ahead as Fayetteville seeks to build on its recent success. The pair also previewed the upcoming campaign, discussing the team’s expectations and the leadership role Kenleigh is expected to play as one of the program’s veteran players.

With a college commitment secured and an impressive list of accomplishments already in hand, McArthur enters her senior season with an opportunity to add to an already distinguished career while helping lead Fayetteville in its pursuit of another successful year on the volleyball court.
