SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Celebrate Sylacauga Dinner on Thursday, April 16 at the J. Craig Smith Community Center, welcoming more than 300 attendees for an evening recognizing businesses and individuals who contribute to the community’s growth.

Presented by Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union, the event featured catering by Hickory Street Cafe and coffee from Cuppa Grace. Guests also enjoyed entertainment from Neon Entertainment’s Survey Game Show, hosted by Mickey Housley.

Each year, the Celebrate Sylacauga Dinner honors businesses and community leaders for their work, growth, and commitment to improving the area.

This year’s Community Partner Award was presented to Alabama Childhood Food Solutions, while Janice Adams received the Spirit of Sylacauga Award. The Horizon Award, recognizing a business operating less than five years, went to Wharf Casual Seafood.

Business awards by employee size included Area Real Estate for 1–10 employees, Pathway Pediatrics for 11–50 employees, Allen Oil for 50–100 employees, and Nemak for businesses with more than 100 employees.

Additional honors included Fireman of the Year (Jarrod Cunningham), Sylacauga City Schools Teacher of the Year (Alex Mosely), and Talladega County Teacher of the Year (Karen Blocker of Childersburg Elementary School).

Business award recipients will also have the opportunity to be recognized at the Alabama Business Awards Banquet this November.

“The Celebrate Sylacauga Dinner is a true reflection of the strength and spirit of our local business community,” said Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Laura Strickland.  “We are incredibly grateful for a community that continues to show up in support of one another.”
