SYLACAUGA, Ala. — Sylacauga High School senior Casey Malone has added another remarkable accomplishment to his already impressive resume.
Malone has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and earned a perfect 36 on the ACT, placing him among the top academic performers in the nation.
The National Merit distinction is awarded to fewer than one percent of high school seniors nationwide, recognizing exceptional academic achievement. Earning finalist status solidifies Malone’s standing as one of Alabama’s elite students.
But in Sylacauga, Casey isn’t just known for what he does in the classroom.
He has been a cornerstone of the Aggies’ soccer program, playing varsity since the eighth grade. Over the years, Malone has been a steady presence on the pitch, helping lead Sylacauga with skill, discipline, and leadership well beyond his years.
Balancing high-level academics with varsity athletics is no small task, but Malone has managed both at an elite level.
After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Alabama, where he will major in chemical engineering.
For Sylacauga High School, Malone represents the very best of what it means to be a student-athlete.
As he prepares to take the next step in Tuscaloosa, one thing is certain, Casey Malone’s future is as bright as his achievements suggest.
