SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation has announced the hiring of a new Athletic Coordinator, Kishawn McKinney.
McKinney is a native of Goodwater, and he graduated from Childersburg High School where he played football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.
After graduation, he furthered his education at Southern Union State Community College where he served as the head manager for both the girls’ and boys’ basketball programs while earning his Associate of Science degree.
McKinney went on to attend the University of North Alabama where he was the manager for the men’s basketball team and later transferred to Jacksonville State University where he earned his degree in Sports Management.
During his time there, he worked with children with developmental challenges at The Learning Tree and also worked part-time at Honda.
“I bring a very strong work ethic, and I am passionate about sports, leadership, and creating positive experiences,” said McKinney.
