SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A female juvenile was shot Saturday night, Dec. 27, in the Drew Court Housing Community, according to the Sylacauga Police Department.
Officers responded around 7:49 p.m. on Dec. 27 to a report of a shooting and learned the juvenile had been shot inside a residence in the neighborhood. Investigators determined that both the house and a vehicle parked outside had been shot into.
The juvenile was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center before being transferred to Children’s of Alabama for further treatment. Police said she suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities have not released information about a suspect or whether an arrest has been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
