TALLADEGA, Ala. – A Talladega man was killed in a head-on crash last Saturday night, Aug. 30, on Hwy 21, according to authorities.
Demetrius L. Pope, 51, died at the scene after his 2019 Toyota Camry collided with a 2012 Dodge Caravan driven by 39-year old Felicia A. R. Gober, of Munford, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division.
Gober was injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
The crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. near the 225-mile marker, roughly three miles south of Talladega’s city limits.
Troopers with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No additional details were immediately available.
