Talladega man killed in single-vehicle crash near Vincent

VINCENT, Ala. – A Talladega man was killed early Sunday morning, Aug. 24, in a single-vehicle crash in Shelby County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

42-year old Jeffrey D. Crandell was fatally injured when the 2003 Nissan 350Z he was driving left Hwy 231 near Whisper Rd. and struck a tree at about 1:15 a.m.

Crandell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred about a mile north of the Vincent city limits.

Troopers with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate. No further details were immediately available.
