CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The past year has been an experience in growth for downtown Childersburg, and two more new businesses join the mix this month, both along 8th Ave. SW.
“The Nevermore” has held a soft opening since the first of the month, featuring some ideal tastes to satisfy your thirst with standard domestic beers, along with some great choices for craft beer enthusiasts. However, it’s far from a finished product, with some great food on the way soon.
After that on the schedule will be “The Argyle,” a craft microbrewery that will added to the lineup at The Nevermore.
The decor isn’t exactly what you might expect from a bar and grill, and that’s intended. Owner Aaron Campbell is looking to create a relaxed, friendly, and inviting atmosphere, perfect for some good conversation.
There are plenty of TVs for sports, especially with football season around the corner. Mood music will provide an eclectic mix, maybe even a themed night here and again. Aaron even has a couple of tables, perfect for table games.

At the far end of that same block, finishing touches are taking place for Salon Paragon from Kayedee Garner. The name sets the tone for perfect new looks as Garner relocates from the heart of Shelby County to make Childersburg home for her family business.
“We’ll bring some longtime customers with us as we look to grow new ones in South Talladega County,” explained Garner. Salon Paragon doesn’t feature a typical layout.
“We’re going for something that’s more personal, focused on you. We think you’ll like what we’re doing.”

So, when do the doors open?
“Literally any minute now,” said Kayedee, “Everything is coming together. We’re both excited and anxious to show off the hard work and to get creative!”
