SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Seniors in Sylacauga are invited to saddle up for a “rootin’-tootin’ good time” at the National Senior Citizen Day Extravaganza 2025, hosted by the Maxye Veazey Senior Center.
The annual celebration will take place Thursday, Aug. 21 at 1:00 p.m. inside the J. Craig Smith Community Center gymnasium. This year’s theme, “It’s a Rodeo!”, will feature a high-energy, Western-style party featuring dancing, games, refreshments, and more.
Highlights include a Western fashion show, a talent showcase, bingo, raffles, and a spirited dance session.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Male and Female, so attendees are encouraged to don their finest cowboy or cowgirl attire.
Admission is free, but an RSVP is required. Participants can reserve a spot by visiting sylacauga.recdesk.com or calling (256) 401-0021.
Organizers say it’s a perfect opportunity for area seniors to show off their talents, enjoy great company, and celebrate in style. Dust off your boots and get ready to party – rodeo style.
