Sylacauga Utilities Board reacts to a widespread power outage over night, restores power at daybreak

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A large number of Sylacauga Utilities Board customers experienced a power outage overnight. It was widespread in nature, affecting 4,523 local customers. Yet, they quickly determined the case and had power back on by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

An Alabama Power feed to the Sylacauga Utilities Board failed just after 2:30 a.m. this morning.

They were able to transfer to an alternate feed just before 6:00 a.m.
