Childersburg woman killed in Tuscaloosa County crash over the weekend

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. – A two-car crash that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Tuscaloosa County has claimed the life of an elderly Childersburg woman.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) troopers, 80-year-old Barbara Kornegay of Childersburg was killed when the Nissan Rogue she was a passenger in collided head-on with a Ford F-150 around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Kornegay was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan and an additional passenger were injured and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. The crash occurred on Alabama Hwy 171 near the 13-mile marker in Tuscaloosa County.
