SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga volleyball team is set to host the area tournament tonight at Nichols-Lawson Middle School, with the stakes as high as ever.
As the top seed, Sylacauga enters the competition with momentum and a mission to defend their area title. Coach Randie Roberts and her team are eyeing their second consecutive area championship and their third in the last four years.
The tournament kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with Sylacauga, the one seed, taking on fourth-seeded Clay Central.
Following that, second-seeded Briarwood will face off against the third seed, Shelby County. The winners of these semifinal matchups will advance to the championship match, which will be played later in the evening.
Both teams that make it to the championship match will secure a spot in the regional tournament, adding extra motivation for every squad competing tonight.
For Coach Roberts and Sylacauga, the goal is clear: another area crown and a chance to make a deep run in the postseason. Fans can expect an exciting evening of volleyball as these teams battle for a chance to advance.
