Physical fitness tests await applicants pursuing Sylacauga Police Department roles

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department will conduct physical fitness tests this Friday, Aug. 11, for those desiring to pursue a career in law enforcement.

The tests will commence around 7:00 a.m. Friday morning at Legion Stadium.

Applicants will showcase their strength, endurance, and commitment as they strive to meet the department’s standards through a variety of different exercises.

Participants must complete 22 push-ups in one minute, 25 sit-ups in one minute, and a mile and a half run in 15 minutes and 28 seconds.

This physical fitness test is an opportunity to prove one’s readiness for the role of a Sylacauga police officer.
