SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Tuesday, Sept. 27, the Sylacauga City Schools (SCS) Foundation was presented a donation sales check from Toyota of Sylacauga.
For every new car sold, the dealership gives $30 to the SCS Foundation. For the month of August, 54 vehicles were sold which brought the sales check total to $1,620.
Since January of 2021, Toyota of Sylacauga has donated $30,660 to the Foundation.
Going forward, Toyota’s donations will go directly into the general grant budget. Prior to the August check, the dealership’s generosity helped fund improvements specific to the science curriculum.
In a press release, the SCS Foundation also announced that Toyota of Sylacauga will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Sylacauga High School. This momentous occasion will include the presentation of Toyota of Sylacauga’s chair status within the Foundation.
The presentation will take place that afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
The SCS Foundation was created in 1988 by Dr. Joseph B. Morton and was one of the first educational foundations of its type in Alabama and the nation.
The Foundation’s role is to support Sylacauga City Schools in the system’s quest for excellence and is dedicated to enhancing the educational needs of students.
