WEATHER ALERT: Wind Advisory in effect in parts of East Central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23. Strong winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts near 35 mph will be possible, contributing to difficult driving conditions and downed trees/larger limbs. Unsecured outdoor decorations and patio furniture may also be displaced.

The advisory covers Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, and Randolph Counties including the cities of Gadsden, Anniston, Centre, Heflin, Pell City, Moody, Talladega, Sylacauga, Ashland, and Roanoke.
