SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On a Wednesday afternoon at Sylacauga High School, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as friends, family, and teammates gathered to witness a pivotal moment in Makasia Crawford’s life.
Crawford, a standout volleyball player for the Aggies, signed a college scholarship to join the Gadsden State Cardinals. This was a culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and countless hours spent perfecting her craft on the court. Throughout her high school career, Crawford had been a driving force behind Sylacauga’s volleyball team’s success, helping them secure two state tournament appearances in the last three years. Her senior year statistics spoke volumes of her skill and determination, with an impressive tally of 194 kills, 17 solo blocks, 23 assisted blocks, and 23 digs in the 2023 season alone.
