RadioAlabama Stations and Affiliates Win Five 2022 ABBY Awards for Broadcast Excellence

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sports broadcasting, news reporting, and local public affairs programming earned prestigious, best-in-class 2022 ABBY Awards for two RadioAlabama stations from the Alabama Broadcasters Association on Sunday.

The annual ABBYs honor the best in broadcasting in Alabama, with highly competitive entries from the state’s radio and television stations.

The awards:

Best Sportscaster: Jeremy Law, RadioAlabama’s news and sports director, is also the voice of the Sylacauga High School Aggies on the Aggie Sports Network. Through multimedia coverage of football, baseball, and basketball, his passion shows in every game he calls and produces in live radio, video, sports talk, and podcast formats for multiple platforms and stations including FOX Sports Central Alabama on 98.3 FM.

Best Reporter: Michael Giddens is a Multimedia News Reporter for MIX 106.5, KiX 100.3, and SylacaugaNews.com, His daily local on-air and online reporting adds unique value to the station’s news coverage efforts.

Best Public Affairs: Behind the Headlines, a weekly long-form news and public affairs program hosted by Executive Vice President Michael Brannon, airs weekly on KiX 100.3; premieres natively on KiX 100.3, MIX 106.5, and SylacaugaNews.com Facebook pages; is linked for viewing on station websites; and is available for on-demand access on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and Stitcher. Built around local and state leaders, professionals, educators, and newsmakers, the multimedia production focuses on important and interesting area topics.
