SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Scams, especially online, seem to hit a high gear during the late-year holiday season, and there’s a new one that actually uses an important security method to fool you.

More and more often, we are asked to “prove” we are human to artificial intelligence in order to use websites, usually using a tool called, “Captcha,” to manually click on segments of photos that match a description.

It was just a matter of time before somebody started using that system to scam people, taking over their computer by convincing you to do something besides proving that you’re human.

The thing is, the real “Captcha” hasn’t changed what they ask you to do. Here’s how they lure you in to take advantage of you:
