SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A longstanding business within the community, Donahoo Physical Therapy, held its new location grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning.
With Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce members in attendance, Donahoo Physical Therapy celebrated moving down the street from its old location. The new venue boasts a 4,000-square foot area to work with which is a noticeable improvement from the old 1,200-square foot establishment. The move is a welcome change for owner Ben Donahoo and his family.
“It was a total family [effort] to get here,” said Donahoo. “All of my kids worked here. My wife did all of the design work and she picked out the color [template]. It’s just been family all the way.”
Donahoo expects the addition of upgraded facilities to help out his “customers and patients” in immediate fashion.
“What this brings is the ability to spread out a little bit more and be a little more safe with our social distancing during COVID,” Donahoo said. “We’re starting to do some industrial rehab because now we’ve got the space to do that. Now we’ll be dealing with a lot more [Workers’ Compensation] cases to bring some work conditioning so that people can get back to the job and know that they’re safe to do the job that they’re going back to.”
This move comes soon after Donahoo Physical Therapy was nominated as a finalist for the 2021 Alabama Small Business Award in the 1-10 employee category.
“We utilize small businesses in this community,” said Executive Director of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce Laura Strickland. “Our small businesses are the heart of our community. They are the backbone of who we are. They’re what makes Sylacauga so special.”
Donahoo Physical Therapy is located a 400 W. Fort Williams Street next to the Express Oil Change.
