SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Comer Sports Network on MIX 106.5 – the official broadcast partner of B.B. Comer High School athletics – will cap its fourth year of football coverage with 2022 AHSAA 2A State Championship play on Dec. 2.
Friday’s game against the Fyffe Red Devils (14-0), the only undefeated team in the Super 7, will mark the first time in 27 years the B.B. Comer Tigers (12-2) have advanced to competition for a state title.
The Comer Sports Network’s wall-to-wall coverage will begin with a special tailgate show at 1:00 p.m. followed by a one-hour pregame show at 2:00 p.m. The voice of B.B. Comer High School football Gregg Wykoff, color analyst Tony White, and sideline reporter Anderson Wykoff will be live from Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn with kickoff at 3:00 p.m.
“Being part of this championship run has been really exciting, and Tony, Anderson, and I could not be more thrilled to be able to broadcast the state championship for the thousands of avid supporters who won’t be able to make it to the stadium,” said Wykoff. “We’ve watched this program transform in front of our eyes and hope to see the Tigers lift the trophy on Friday night.”
“We are extremely proud of what the Tigers and Coach Adam Fossett have accomplished and honored to follow them to the state championship game,” said Lee Perryman, RadioAlabama’s President & CEO. “I’d certainly like to thank our many sponsors who make continued coverage possible.”
Play-by-play coverage can be heard on air locally on MIX 106.5, online at RadioAlabamaSports.net, on the Comer Sports Network’s Facebook page, on the MIX 106.5 mobile apps, and on Amazon Alexa-enabled smartspeakers.
