SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga and Talladega County officials announced widespread delays and closures for Monday, Jan. 26, as winter weather and falling temperatures raise concerns about road conditions.
Sylacauga City Schools and Talladega County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay Monday. Sylacauga school officials said they will continue monitoring weather and road conditions for Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Knollwood Christian School in Sylacauga will be closed Monday.
City and county government offices are also adjusting schedules. All Sylacauga city offices will delay opening until 11:00 a.m. Monday. Talladega County Buildings will also open at 11:00 a.m. due to inclement weather.
Sylacauga Parks and Recreation will open at 10:30 a.m. out of an abundance of caution for road conditions. The chair Zumba class at the J. Craig Smith Community Center is canceled.
Officials urge residents to remain vigilant while traveling and stay weather-aware as temperatures continue to drop in the coming hours.
