SYLACAUGA, Ala. – March Madness is under way. Over 65 single-elimination games will take place as teams fight for the ultimate crown in college hoops over the next few weeks.
This tournament is particularly special in the state of Alabama. Both Auburn University and the University of Alabama are in the tournament in the same season which has been a rarity in recent years. The two schools have not made the tournament in the same year since 2003.
4-Seed Auburn, the 2017-18 Co-SEC champion with the University of Tennessee, will face 13-seed College of Charleston in the Midwest region. The Tigers will tip-off in Viejas Arena in San Diego, California on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Auburn will play on tru-TV. If the Tigers win, they will move on to face either Clemson or New Mexico State in the Round of 32.
9-seed Alabama was forced to win at least one SEC tournament game to advance to the big dance. With two major wins over Texas A&M and Auburn in the SEC tournament, Alabama did indeed make the NCAA tournament and will face 8-seed Virginia Tech in the first round of the East Region. The Tide will tip-off in PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh at 8:20 Thursday night on TNT. If the Tide wins, it will move on to face 1-seed Villanova or 16-seed Radford on Saturday.
All games will be streamed online. To watch all of March Madness click here. All NCAA tournament games will be on either CBS, TNT, TBS and tru-TV.
