TALLADEGA, Ala. – The weekend was not friendly to those who choose to handle illegal narcotics and controlled substances throughout Talladega County. With one click of the mouse onto the Talladega County Jail inmate roster, you will notice a heightened amount of drug arrests from Friday, Oct. 13 through Saturday, Oct. 14.
The arrests began in the county on Friday with significant charges when 46-year-old Stephen Lashane Morris of Sylacauga was arrested by SPD and later charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute. Morris remains in the Talladega County Jail with a $40,000 bond.
Also on Friday, Rex Lee Barnes of Sylacauga was arrested and charged with four different different crimes. They are as follows, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and resisting arrest. Barnes is being held on $10,000 bond.
Saturday was a day for drinking, apparently, and drugs throughout the county. 51-year-old Kay Lynn Edge was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Edge resides in Lincoln and is held on $1,000 bond.
Carliss Dale Lytle from Atlanta, Georgia, 28, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphenalia.
