Sylacauga’s Dontavius Ware was named the Star Physical Therapy ‘Star Player of the Game’ Friday night as the Aggies advanced to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in region play.
In the 36-6 win over region opponent Moody High School, the Aggie defense played hard-nosed football and even found the endzone itself on Moody’s first possession of the game.
On the second offensive play of the game for the Blue devils, Moody had 2nd and 5 from its own 21. On a hand off up the middle, linebacker Caleb Burns stripped the ball out at the 29 yard line where it was picked up by junior cornerback Dontavius Ware.
With a wide open field ahead, Ware brought it back to the house for a non-offensive touchdown, putting Sylacauga up 15-0 after the extra point from kicker Cole Porch.
Fast forward to 12:48 to relive the moment.
Ware is one of the top play makers on defense. If you remember, he had a key interception in the first half vs. Springville last week.
This week Sylacauga goes on the road to Mortimer Jordan (2-2, 1-1). Listen on Yea!106.5 and the Yea!106.5 app. Watch on AggieSportsNetwork.net and Facebook Live.
