SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council met on Tuesday night, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. following a work session which began at 4:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the city council agreed to resurface Gene E. Stewart Blvd. from the railroad tracks to Curtis Liles Ct. (The estimated project cost is $358,668. Funding to be used from the Special Gasoline Tax Fund.)
Pending city attorney Edwin B. Livingston, Jr.’s approval, the council authorized an agreement with Waggoner Engineering, Inc. to prepare a grant application for the purchase of four police vehicles and one electronic digital fingerprint machine to enhance the Sylacauga Police Department and emergency services provided to the community.
Approval was granted for Fiscal Year 2024 Accounts Payable invoices in the amount of $406,519.50.
The next meeting of the Sylacauga City Council is set to take place on Tuesday night, April 2, at 6:00 p.m.
