SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga’s city council met Tuesday night for its regularly scheduled meeting.
The majority of the work session involved the Talladega County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force discussing the city of Sylacauga’s participation.
In the meeting, the council took the following actions:
- Resolution 05-2021 declaring fireproof file cabinets as surplus property and donating to the B.B. Comer Memorial Library.
- Action necessary to approve COVID leave policy for city employees, if ready.
- Appointment to Historical Commission – term of Linda H. Dickson expiring March, 2021.
- Approve travel/expenses for PD Chief Kelley Johnson, Lt. Renea Cummings, Captain Rondell Muse, Lt. Willis Whatley, and Lt. Mike Moore to attend the AACOP Winter Conference & Cleep Training in Montgomery Feb. 15-18, 2021. Registration fee is $225.00 per employee. No additional expenses will be incurred other than the use of department vehicles (2).
- Additional invoices for FY20 Accounts Payable received after year-end close on Sept. 30 in the amount of $7,139.70.
- Accounts Payable received to date for January in the amount of $838,189.32.
