SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga volleyball was five for five heading into its final area match Tuesday night at Shelby County. Today, the Aggies still stand perfect.
The Aggies were aggressive and set the tempo for the entire best-of-five match in set one, taking the set 25-21.
Set two was a point closer with Sylacauga edging out the Wildcats 25-22.
With a chance to take the match in straight sets, Shelby County played well with its back against the wall, clawing through the set for a 17-25 victory.
Then with Shelby County holding a chance to tie the match, Sylacauga stayed poised. The Aggies ended a comeback bid for the Wildcats with a 25-14 victory in set four.
Sylacauga is now looking forward to hosting the area tournament at Douglass-Martin Court on Thursday, Oct. 14.

- 4:00 – Sylacauga vs. Talladega
- 5:30 – Shelby County vs. Central High School of Clay County
- 7:00 – Area Championship – Match 1 winner vs. Match 2 winner
