SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A 51-year old Sylacauga man was arrested last week after a vehicle was reported stolen.
Last Monday, Sept. 11, the Sylacauga Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from the parking lot of King’s Vape & Tobacco at 28 N Broadway Ave.
Officers swiftly sprang into action, locating the stolen vehicle in the Walmart parking lot later that evening at approximately 9:25 p.m.
Behind the wheel was 51-year-old Christopher Corey Slagle, a resident of Sylacauga. Slagle was apprehended and taken to the police department for questioning.
Subsequently, Slagle was arrested for Theft of Property in the First Degree, a Class B felony. He was transported to the Talladega County Jail and his bond was set at $15,000.
Theft of Property in the First Degree carries severe penalties, including imprisonment for 2 to 20 years and a fine of up to $30,000.
