TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Two people have been charged with murder and robbery in Talladega County in the death of Patrick Slade Boothe, a Jacksonville man who was reported missing on Friday, Jan. 23.
Jesse Austin Heald, 34, of Talladega was charged with capital murder and first-degree robbery. Tiffani Renee Nichol, 35, was charged with murder and first-degree robbery. Both made preliminary court appearances Friday, Feb. 6 before Talladega County Circuit Judge Chad Woodruff.
Boothe’s body was found Thursday in Talladega County following a multi-agency search. Authorities did not disclose the exact location of where the body was found.
No official cause of death was released. The Talladega County District Attorney’s Office said the capital murder charge against Heald stems from allegations that Boothe was killed inside a vehicle when Heald fired a gun into it.
Both defendants are expected to return to court in March for hearings to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for the cases to be presented to a grand jury.
