Tragic single-vehicle accident claims the life of 22-year old Sylacauga man

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A tragic single-vehicle crash that occurred late Saturday night, Feb. 24, on Old Sylacauga Hwy resulted in the death of a young Sylacauga man.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division, 22-year old Courtney C. Gamble, Jr. was fatally injured when the 2019 Toyota Corolla he was driving veered off Old Sylacauga Hwy and collided with a tree at around 11:00 p.m.

Gamble, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck site was located near Odena Heights Dr. about three miles south of Sylacauga.

No further details are available at this time as ALEA continues to investigate.
