SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In a heartwarming ceremony held on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 6, Toyota of Sylacauga was honored with the 65th Chair presentation by the Sylacauga City School (SCS) Foundation.

The ceremony started at 4:00 p.m. in the Sylacauga High School foyer.

The SCS Foundation’s prestigious Chair status is achieved through generous donations totaling $25,000 or more to the foundation, and Toyota of Sylacauga exceeded this benchmark by a remarkable margin.

This achievement marks Toyota of Sylacauga’s second chair presentation, having previously earned their first chair on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, by contributing $50,000.

In addition to this honor, Toyota continued their commitment by generously donating their monthly sales check for August, amounting to $1,410.

Since January of 2021, Toyota of Sylacauga has been actively supporting the SCS Foundation with a pledge to donate $30 for every new car sold from their dealership lot. As a result, their total contributions have now soared to an impressive $56,180.

“This is a very special and unique partnership that we have with Toyota,” said SCS Foundation Executive Director Carol Sprayberry. “I would be willing to bet that there’s not another dealership in Alabama that does what they do for us. I can’t thank them enough.”

John Parrish, President of the SCS Foundation, expressed the Foundation’s gratitude during the presentation. Chris Cain, General Manager of Toyota of Sylacauga, dedicated this second chair in memory of the late Steve Sprayberry.

RadioAlabama’s Michael Brannon also shared remarks on behalf of the dealership. The SCS Foundation, established in 1988, upholds a noble mission to enhance the quality of education for local students by offering financial support to classroom teachers and educational programs.
