SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Toyota of Sylacauga was awarded the prestigious SET Elite Award on Friday morning, March 20, recognizing the dealership’s consistent excellence across operations.
The SET Elite Award, presented by Toyota Motor Corporation’s Southeast region, honors only the top-performing dealerships. This year, just 59 of 177 dealerships earned the distinction.
“For five years, we’ve been here at this dealership, and it means the world to us because we’ve fought to get this SET Elite Award,” said Chris Cain, Executive Manager of Toyota of Sylacauga. “Elite means exactly what it says. You’ve got 177 dealers to fight to get into 59 spots. We ended up finishing number 40.”

To qualify, dealerships must exceed annual sales objectives while maintaining strong customer loyalty through Toyota’s engagement metrics. In addition, they must demonstrate high sales efficiency, achieve profitability, and invest in a well-trained team.
Eligibility requirements also include maintaining a Sales Efficiency score of at least 105 percent for 12 consecutive months. Facilities must meet Image USA II standards, or show clear progress toward compliance through construction or an approved development plan.
“You have to be firing on all cylinders with sales, service, [customer satisfaction], TLE – which stands for Toyota Loyalty Engagement. We have to all pull together as a team, and that’s what it always takes. It does mean a lot to us, for sure,” Cain said of winning the award.
The SET Elite Award underscores Toyota of Sylacauga’s dedication to delivering a high-quality experience while operating at an elite level within one of the nation’s most competitive dealership networks.
