Toyota of Sylacauga covering all adoption fees at Sylacauga Animal Shelter for November

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – There’s something to be said about finding your four-legged best friend. Now, Toyota of Sylacauga has made it a little easier for those who may not be able to afford adoption fees but want a new best friend.

For the month of November, the locally-owned and operated dealership on Hwy. 280 is covering all adoption fees, which include spay and neutering, at the Sylacauga Animal Shelter.

“We are here to help and give these baby’s a real shot at a loving home,” said Toyota of Sylacauga General Manager and Co-Owner, Chris Cain. “We love fur babies and would do anything to help them.”

Cain said he, along with his wife Jeanne, love and care for a fair amount of animals themselves. He said people should be encouraged to have pets of their own because otherwise a home just would not feel complete.

“Animals help our brains, our health, and add a sense of security to our state of mind. As far as I’m concerned, every house needs a baby to make it a home,” said Cain.

Seeing animals go up for adoption and then be neglected or ignored before adoption was just too much for the Cains.

“It broke my heart to see when they posted dogs were going to be put down because no one adopted them. To have other people say they didn’t have the money to adopt was unacceptable so we stepped up to make this happen,” said Cain.

He said this is not about Toyota of Sylacauga or the Humane Society.

“It’s about those fur babies that are in the pins. Just walking into the shelter and see faces of fur babies wanting a loving home — that’s something that I just can’t see. Every fur baby needs a home and as humans, we can help them with that. Animals don’t choose their lives; we choose it for them,” said Cain.

Donations are being accepted at the dealership to help the Sylacauga Animal Shelter. Participants will be entered to win prizes.
