SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Toyota of Sylacauga and Oak Grove Feed and Tack joined forces to provide relief for victims of Hurricane Helene, delivering tons of pet food to affected areas.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, three trucks with trailers attached transported dog and cat food, along with other types of feed, from Oak Grove Feed and Tack.
The relief effort was made possible in part by Chris Cain, Owner and General Manager of Toyota of Sylacauga, who personally donated through his ranch, C&J Ranch.
“As someone who loves animals, I couldn’t stand by and do nothing after seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene,” Cain said. “Donating dog and cat food, along with other feed, was my way of making sure the pets—and the families who love them—were taken care of during such a difficult time. Animals are often forgotten in the rush to provide aid, but they’re just as affected by these disasters. I encourage everyone to step up and contribute, whether it’s pet food, supplies, or a donation. Every little bit helps, and together, we can ensure that no one, human or animal, is left behind.”
Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation with flooding, wind damage, and storm surge affecting six states and resulting in at least 230 fatalities.
