CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A Thursday night crash in Childersburg has left one person dead, according to the Childersburg Fire Department.
The department said it responded to a call of a one-vehicle accident at Pine Grove Rd. and Coleman Ridge Rd. around 10:00 Thursday night.
While responding to the accident, CFD was advised there was possibly a victim still inside the vehicle while it was on fire. Within nine minutes of dispatch, crews arrived on scene to find a passenger car crashed into a tree with the vehicle fully involved with fire.
After the fire was extinguished, it was confirmed that there was one fatality. Dispatch notes reports that the caller states that the car “hit a tree and burst into flames”.
