HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – On Wednesday, Feb. 12, a Madison County judge granted the request of the prosecution to allow three defendants to go on trial together in the death of a teen whose body was found in Sylacauga.
Huntsville teen Ja’Marious Logan, 15, was reported missing in September of 2023. Nearly two months after his disappearance, his remains were found in Sylacauga.
Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy says the body was found later that year in a small, makeshift grave behind an abandoned house on Spearhill Rd. on Thursday, Nov. 16.
33-year-old Latorrie Gaddis was charged with capital murder in connection to Logan’s death.
37-year-old Latoya Wells and 22-year-old Corie Wilson were both charged with kidnapping. They will be tried together.
A fourth defendant, 34-year-old Deserea Cunningham, has been charged with Hindering Prosecution and will be tried separately.
