ALPINE, Ala. – The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Memorial Day shooting which sent one victim to the hospital.
Monday evening around 5:30, the TCSO responded to a call in reference to a shooting on Loblolly Trace in Alpine.
Upon arrival, deputies found that a 32-year-old female had been shot. She was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga and eventually transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

According to the TCSO, the 32-year-old shooting victim has been pronounced dead by doctors at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Law enforcement plans to release the name of the deceased victim once all of her family has been notified.

Law enforcement has identified the 32-year-old female victim as Jennifer Abrams.
According to Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore, she was shot at the 300 block of Loblolly Trace in Alpine around 5:30 p.m. Monday evening.
She was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center and transferred to UAB Hospital where she later died Tuesday morning.
No further information has been released at this time as details are still being obtained as to how the shooting occurred.
Kilgore says his investigators are continuing to work on obtaining information and are awaiting autopsy results.
