TALLADEGA, Ala. – Every November, the Talladega County Commission selects a Chairman who is responsible for attending conferences and events across the state, representing the county in various capacities. For more than a decade, the Chairman has been District 3 Commissioner Kelvin Cunningham. That is changing.
With Cunningham taking on a new role as Talladega County Schools Deputy Superintendent, the commissioners were unanimous in their praise for Cunningham’s time as Chairman, but are moving in new direction to give Cunningham a break in handling his new job duties.
A motion was made by District 1 Commissioner Darrell Ingram and seconded by District 2 Commission Tony Haynes. The vote was unanimously approved to name District 4 Commissioner Malley Limbaugh as Commission Chairman for a one-year term.
Limbaugh said his priorities will continue to include recruiting new industry, creating more jobs, improving roads and bridges, promoting a litter-free county, and maintaining a balanced budget.
