The Print Shop in Childersburg celebrates its golden anniversary

SHARE NOW

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A milestone in business that is rarely celebrated became a reality on Friday, Oct. 4, in downtown Childersburg, and it should be truly considered a family accomplishment.

The Print Shop was established fifty years ago and is still operating today, distributing quality custom printing to all of their customers. Believe it or not, some of their customers from the start are still customers today.

Lewis and Jane Allen established the company in 1973, but it didn’t take very long for them to create what is now a great and successful business not only in Childersburg, but all across the state.

The printing business is not easy, but many entrepreneurial goals were accomplished by Lewis and Jane because their number one priority was to produce quality printing and to treat the public like what they would want to be treated in return.

Heavily involved in the city, community, and business world, Mr. and Mrs. Allen were very well respected and loved, winning many awards as they lived their life.

Later in life as they were aging, their son Joe purchased and took control of the company and not only did well, but expanded the printing business to stay competitive in the ever-changing digital world.

Still in downtown Childersburg, The Print Shop remains a company that provides businesses and the public with any form of printing from business cards, letterheads, envelopes, signs, magnetics, cut vinyl, books, and business forms that they so require.

Joe Allen is very appreciative of what his parents started and the loyal customers who have made The Print Shop successful for fifty years.

Joe said, “I have been very blessed to have hard working parents that established such a great place to make a living. Of course, we could not have made it this long without our wonderful customers and great employees that we have had throughout the fifty years.”

A family business that started fifty years ago is still a family atmosphere for the five people who call it their everyday job.

Joe Allen, Lisa Pody, Cathy Harris, Lauren Guy, and Justin Roland were on hand last Friday with family members, community leaders, and friends to celebrate what customers have celebrated for fifty years and more to come. Congratulations!
